The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized assessment,designed to examine the linguistic ability of a candidate who is aiming to study or work in an English speaking country.

Since its establishment in 1989,IELTS has emerged to be one of the most reliable and trusted English language test across the continents.It is jointly managed by the BRITISH COUNCIL,IDP:IELTS AUSTRALIA and CAMBRIDGE ASSESSMENT ENGLISH. However,In 2021,IDP has officially acquired 100% of IELTS business in India from British Council,which means that the latter will no longer deliver tests in India.

IELTS IS NOW CONDUCTED BOTH AS PEN AND PAPER BASED TEST, ALSO AS COMPUTER BASED TEST.

 The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Seeking to pursue further education  at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  • Seeking professional registration.
  • Seeking to study or train at below degree level (secondary school).
  • Migrating to an English-speaking country.

TEST LAYOUT

IELTS comprises mainly four modules.

  1. Listening
  2. Reading
  3. Writing
  4. Speaking.

The polarity between Academics and General training is in module 2 and module 3. All other characteristics like the granted time, length of written responses and reporting of scores, are selfsame.

THE RESULTS

The results will be published exactly 13 days after LRW test for paper based test and 5 days after LRW test for computer based test.The candidates can view their results on the official website or through messages sent on registered email address or mobile number.
