There are 5 IELTS qualifications, that is academic, general training, life skills B1 life skills A2, and life skills A1. The three life skills qualifications are at lower levels than the other two Academic, General. The life skills qualification is used for UK immigration purposes. These examination is do not appear to be taken by large number of people.
In the IELTS examination hall, we are not allowed to take phones, watches, any type of compute, anything containing paper. All of the four modules except the speaking test is taken on the same day. In the reading and listening papers the candidates can only get marks from the answers which are 100% accurate in both spelling and grammar and also there audio for the listening paper is not repeated. At the end of the listening paper, we will get 10 minute to transfer our answers to the official answer sheet. But in the case of reading, there is no extra time to transfer our answers to the official answer sheet. In the speaking test, we need to show our language abilities in front of the examiner based on the questions she or he asked. In listening, we have to listen to four different recordings of English speakers and then provide answers to a series of questions. Will be provided with 30 minutes for the listening module. In Reading, there will be three long texts. We need to answers to 40 questions within a period of 60 minutes. In Speaking, the examiner would ask several questions from you about some topics that you are familiar with. The time allocated for speaking module is between 10 – 15 minutes. In Writing, we need to complete task 1 and task 2. In task 1 is letter for general IELTS and diagram, chart, table or graph for Academic. Task 2 essay type is same for both the academic and general examination such as opinion based, agree or disagree and so on.
